Tom Callahan To Moderate "Music Industry Summit" at Indie Music Week November 10-13, 1999
Nashville, TN - Organizers of INDIE MUSIC WEEK in Nashville have announce that Tom Callahan will moderate the "Music Industry Summit" panel. This panel brings together top industry leaders for an open forum where the audience can ask questions and get straight-forward answers. Always a huge hit at the conferences, Callahan will bring along several other well known music industry executives to participate on the panel.
Callahan has held national positions at Enigma Records, IRS Records (where he was also Director of Special Projects) and Virgin Records, where he rose to Senior Director of Adult Formats. He launched Callahan and Associates, co-founded Laurel Canyon Entertainment and managed Donnie Kehr ("Tommy" on Broadway), Lisa Mordente, Natalie Archangel and Arnold McCuller. He also founded Coyote Records and released a number of CD's including Arnold McCuller, John Waite, Suzi K. and a soundtrack for a CBS movie of the week. With Tom Mazzetta, he co-founded Boulder Entertainment Group (B.E.G.). a firm that specializes in marketing, consulting and management. Clients have included Phoebe Snow, Arnold McCuller, Suzi K. and Deborah Franco. B.E.G. consult to a number of labels including American Gramaphone and is currently executive producing upcoming releases of Suzi K. and Paul Ventimiglia. Tom negotiated the first ever independent promotion radio deal with Citadel Communications. His company is well known as one of the leaders in Adult Contemporary record promotion. In 1998, Tom was nominated for "Promotion Person of the Year" by Gavin Magazine.
